RUST AWAY | Rust Remover and Converter

This concentrated blend of inorganic acids, wetting agents, detergents and water softeners is speciﬁcally designed for the rapid removal of rust, while adding protection against further rusting by providing a phosphatized surface on ferrous metals. The detergent action helps to remove grease and oils which may have accumulated on the metal surface. Phosphatizing offers a very conducive surface for metals which are to be painted following the removal of rust. RUST AWAY is used to soften and dissolve rust from machinery, equipment, sheet iron, carpets, bridges, pipes, concrete, metal parts, fasteners, oilﬁeld tools, automobiles.

If the surface to be cleaned is greasy or oily, ﬁrst clean the surface with Magnum® Degreaser.

Dilute 12:1 with water and apply by spraying, wiping, dipping, soaking or brushing. Reapply as need to keep the surface wet. Allow sufﬁcient time for the product to loosen or dissolve deposits. Rinse with garden hose or pressurized washer. Reapply if needed or use ﬁber pad to speed removal of loosened deposits. In a dip tank or ultrasonic, product can be heated (up to120 to 150 ° F). Heat shortens penetration time. Reapply at 20:1 and allow to dry for use as a paint primer on metal surfaces.

NOTE: RUST AWAY may react with zinc (galvanized), magnesium. and tempered carbon steel, depending on temperature and length of exposure.
